It seems that we still have the bug with PvP items and locked/unlocked mods. Things you've unlocked with Balthazar faction might simply become unavailable or reduced in quality for no apparent reason. I know for a fact that I unlocked 15^50 a few weeks ago, and now I can only choose 10^50. I'm not too keen on having to unlock it again, and again next week, and again two weeks later. This is a fairly severe bug that has been addressed repeatedly, yet the devs seem to not acknowledge it. Why do we have to accept this?

i've never had this bug myself.

do note that if you unlock something through pve, you need to unlock the lower stages aswell before you can actually use the upper one (so you will get the "upgrade unlocked" box when you ID a 15>50 inscription, but you'll still have to unlock the lower stages before you can actually use it).

if you're absolutely sure you unlocked every stage, it's indeed a pretty annoying bug ...

It happened to me. A new build resolved it - so just wait it out if you can. It locked ~10 things and unlocked 2, which stayed unlocked so I came out ahead in the end.

It's true that runes must be unlocked in sequence. Even if you unlock a Major Rune of Vigor in PvE, the Priest of Balthazar will still list only the Minor Rune for a faction-unlock.

However, the account has access to the Major Rune. If you were to roll a PvP character and begin crafting PvP armor, you would scroll down and see that Minor and Superior levels were locked, but the unlocked Major is accessible.

However, in the case of weapon mods, that is not the case at all. The Priest of Balthazar may offer you first a lower mod such as Armor+4 before allowing you to purchase the higher Armor+5 mod... but the moment you unlocked Armor+5 via PvE, then it is immediately available at the highest level, and the Priest shows the defense mod as Unlocked. It is never the case where you will have an unlocked higher mod, but be unable to use it until you unlock a lower version.

Taking the 15^50 inscription as an example, I've long ago unlocked every stage of this. You can barely avoid doing that if you play through one PvE campaign. I also unlocked 15^50 in PvE, but had to do so in PvP as well. Now, a couple of weeks later, it was locked again, and I had to unlock it yet another time, spending my Balthazar faction again. Wonder if I'll have to do the same next week. This cannot be an intended feature.

If it works like that, the whole system is a bug in my opinion and should be overhauled.

I'm having same problem, unlocked everything in sequence and still can't use anything for PvP! Im starting to get really pissed about this. Anet get up off your duffs and fix this NOW!

I'm having this damn bug too. I unlocked the 15%>50 twice already and now it's at 10%>50again.

I've had the same error happen....2 Times before.

Vamp Spear heads..unlocked lower one, unlocked max one, even MADE A FREAKIN SPEAR that had the max version, logged out and back in and the max version was no longer unlocked and no longer an option for me in making spears, yet i still had the spear I made before I logged out...with a max vamp on it.

Had this problem twice, long ago.

Unlocked +5 insightful staff heads and it was missing the next day and had to unlock it again. Same with an axe fortitude grip, that was unlocked at +30 hp but went back down to 20 hp for some reason.

I'm sure this was just a odd bug and I unlocked the stuff again so it wasn't a big deal. Still kinda weird though o.O

*Do you remember any specific action right before the error occured?
*Do you have the full campaigns, or the PvP only versions?
*Have you found a way to repeatedly cause this?
*Does it seem to affect only specific items?
*Have you done anything to make them reappear, aside from re-unlocking?
*And anything else useful.....

There. at least now, if Gaile or someone looks at this thread, they will have smething to look at. Right now, your information doesnt help much. ANet can "get off their duffs" and fix it sooner if they actually know what is happening.

Nothing specific, but it seems to usually happen after I've played PvE for a while.

Full campaigns, the regular ones, not Collectors Edition or pre-order.

I haven't found a way to duplicate the effect myself, but it has happened several times within the span of a month.

Inscriptions an weapon mods - anything that can have a variable number.

No, re-purchasing the items from the Balthazar guy was what I did.

It has happened with various inscriptions and weapon mods, but I think it happened 2-3 times with "Strength and Honor" (15^50) while only once with any of the others.
